When we first came to know about Kopi Cine from an online review, we thought it was a nice place to drop by. Kopi Cine is park under the same management as Bon Ton.

IMG_8808 copy

Kopi Cine comes from the word Kopi (coffee in Malay) and Cine, the short form of Cinema simply means a coffee shop where Asian movies are played every night.

IMG_8954 copy

Two months old up to date, this Kopi Cine is part of a row of heritage houses in Stewart Lane, Penang. To preserve this heritage house, this coffee shop is turned into an a vintage cafe decorated with antiques.

IMG_8966 copy

The fun part that also attracted us to visit this place, is the big piece of Mahjong paper with a glass of colorful crayons to set your imaginations to live. The Buncho crayons, bring back our nostalgic memories.

IMG_8906 copy

The food served was good and unique as well. It was originated from Australia with some touch of our local taste. Their food menu is divided into Breakfast (9am to Noon), Lunch (Noon to 4pm) and Tapas/Dinner/Sharing plates (6 to 10.30pm). They also served many types of drinks, cocktails and wine.

Another must try if you love beef. Juicy meatballs served with tomato relish. Also recommended.

Mezze Plate -
Hummus, Eggplant Dip, Tomato Salsa, Olive Oil & Dukka served with Pita RM 20

The Mezze Plate is something light for those who don't fancy meat.

Lamb, Chickpea & Eggplant Pie with Mashed Potato RM 25 (from Saturday Spectaculars)

If you would like to pay a visit during dinner, do try out their house specialty, the Crispy Aromatic Duck and the Ginger Bud Pesto Vegetarian Spaghetti.

Homemade Ice Cream, Gula Melaka RM 8

Also, don't miss out their list of homemade ice creams, desserts and cakes. The Gula Melaka ice cream is rich in caramel taste and not too sweet to our liking. Besides Gula Melaka, the strawberry ice cream is recommended too.

Besides the good dishes, it also has a comfortable Reading Room, where the library of books are there for your reading pleasure.
