[Invited Review] Mouth Watering Home Cook Meal at Ivy’s Kitchen

Posted by Food Promotions On Tuesday, June 16, 2009
Ivy’s kitchen landed in Penang for 2 years. The business is run by Mr. Tan and his wife Ivy. The restaurant is named after the beloved wife and she is the chef behind the scene while Mr. Tan is taking up the management and customer service role.

Ivy’s kitchen is located at Jalan Chow Thye, a sideway from Jalan Burma with Jemputree as the corner landmark. The restaurant in rent of a colonial style building with nice and simple nyonya touch decoration. It is certainly a fine place for meet up, gathering and reunion and etc.

Initially they focused on the nasi lemak market and later venture into nyonya recipe to provide wider food choices to the customers.

Lets see what is offered in Ivy's Kitchen....

Fruit juice prices range from RM2.20 to RM2.80.
Add 80cent mixture of 2 fruits
Add RM1 for mixture of 3 fruits

We even ordered a new juice ‘Cucumber+ Mint’ which is not in the menu. Mr Tan are flexible enough to arrange for us. The only one word I could say to describe the juice is 'Refreshing'. Cucumber has a cooling effect which is a perfect match to come with spicy food. It can also helps to relief fewer . Mint itself has a nature fragrant, high water content and is one of the start ingredient in the health diet recipe.

Red Bean Soup RM1.60

Red bean soup with sago. Ivy even added dried lily bulb, silver fungus or longan to it. Dried lily bulb is good for lungs. Nutrition level of silver fungus is almost similar as bird nest and elder generation people take this as an economic replacement to bird nest which is good for our skin, liver. Longan helps to boost up energy.

Customer can also have steamboat there, just call-up for order reservation and food preparation. With price range of RM40++ or RM80++.

Furthermore they have discount stamp reward. How does the ‘discount stamp’ works?
1. There are 10 boxes to be filled with stamps.
2. Each RM5 spending will get one stamp. (No restriction to one receipt, meaning RM50 per receipt will complete the full coupon)
3. After completing the coupon, you’ll get RM7.50 rebate for the next dine in.
