“At last the issue that remains is what you need.
When all is consumed after a good feed,
A new pocket size one to clean you out will do nicely.
Roti canai and Thosai have it in part in their variety,
This treasure that is found at our dinner, lunch or tea,
But I need proof that it was purchased from a Shell station only.”

Guess the answer! (No prizes to be won though...)

To end the race, we need to complete treasure clues, road safety and Leg 3 clues before finish station. Don’t forget to develop and submit the 4 photos took from Leg 1. Voila, we finished our race early at 6.30pm.

The very next day, breakfast is served. Here’s the variety of food.

Top 3 teams will walk away with cash prizes. And the team which came first scored full marks, 170/170! It’s amazing how perfect people can be when they work in a team. Congratulations to Team 46!

Congratulations Hunter R Us!!!

Hi Readers,
It's a great pleasure for us to introduce you this very nice casual dining place among the locals and back packers, Ecco Café. It is famous for serving great italian food with wide variety of pizza and pasta, and is located along the pre war shop houses.

The uniqueness of this restaurant is, it has an open kitchen and the chef's cooking in action is easily seen by the customers. Diners can enjoy viewing the chef's rolling the pizza dough and how the food is served. Another special thing about the food here, is the pizza and noodles are made from scratch upon ordering.

The interior of the café are classic, antique and unique.

Let me introduce the menu, first there are a wide varieties of Pizzas. We ordered Louisiana (RM17) that has thinly slices of salami, onion, tomato, fresh chili, olives and basil . Its delicious as it has a thin crust and is crispy at the edge. You can taste the freshness of the tomato paste and the tasty salami.

Next will be the Hawaiian Pizza (RM17) with thin slices of turkey ham, olives, capsicum, onion and pineapple. This taste a bit mild but it is good.

Second is the great choice of pasta. The pasta is served with freshly grated cheese and two stick of bread. Let me present to you the most special pasta of the day that is the Truz (RM17) as it comes with Cajun spiced chicken, bananas in the cream sauce. There are tiny slices of bananas that enhances and creates a very nice taste towards the pasta. I could say it really has a unique taste in it compare to other pastas. For banana lover, you will definitely give thumbs up on this dish.

Next would be the Confetti Corleone (RM17) that has chicken with capsicum, peas, onion, olives in roasted garlic cream sauce. As for this dish you can either choose for chicken, beef pepperoni or vegetarian. The roasted huge chuck of garlic in this dish does create an unbelievable aroma.

These are a few of the chef specialty we ordered. Calzone (RM18) would be a wrapped up pizza dough baked with turkey ham, tomato, basil, capsicum, onion, tomato sauce and cheese. The dough will rise when its baked till golden brown. It taste really good and its indeed a very creative dish.

Next would be the Chicken Pot Pie (RM16) with the filling chucks of chicken, peas, carrots, and potatoes, white cream sauce baked with pie-crust cover and served together with some side salad. The cream sauce is not too creamy, good for my liking come with the nice salad.

We also ordered mushroom soup but we find the soup kind of bland thought they have nice minced mushroom in it. It could be nice if it is creamier.

The orange color pumpkin soup did not catch my attention at first but surprisingly it taste awesome. It is much richer compare to the mushroom soup and you are able to taste the boiled pumpkin sweetness.

Last but not least comes the one and only dessert left available at the shop for us. Let me present to you the Crème Brulee. The egg custard pudding topped with a layer of hard caramel. It is a bit cold when it’s been served to us. The top layer of the sugar is slightly burned as not in perfection. You are able to find some raisin and coffee inside of it. Overall we still did enjoy the last piece of dessert that each of us only manage to have few scoop as it comes in small portion.

We had the fresh brew coffee (RM5) as drinks. This is real ‘kopi o’ coffee that you are able to find it any at coffee shop.

Dining Experience at The View

Posted by Food Promotions On Tuesday, November 04, 2008 1 comments
Hi Readers,
Recently, I have a chance to visit a nice restaurant and I would like to share my experience in Foodpromotions with all of you here.
Do share your experience anywhere and anytime with us too! Let's start now ;)

About the restaurant I dine:

Name: The View, Hotel Equatorial Penang
Address: 1, Jalan Bukit Jambul, Bayan Lepas, 11900 Penang
Tel: 604-643 8111
Website: http://www.equatorial.com/pen/

The View is a French Cuisine restaurant located on the 3rd floor of the hotel. With visible glass wall, patrons will enjoy the wonderful display of lights Bayan Lepas and Penang Bridge has to offer. In the heart of the restaurant, there is a pianist will serenade your heart with beautiful compositions. For a relaxing and romantic atmosphere, there is nothing better than dim lights, candle and orchid as the centerpiece on each table. It's a perfect place for diners who look for a nice and comfortable feeling.

The View has a great variety of main dishes and it comes together with a semi buffet which consists mouth-watering appetizers and dessert. The smoked Salmon and oysters served among the appetizers in the semi-buffet session were very fresh and I was tempted to have another serving. The main dishes are well presented. Here goes:

Grilled Mixed Seafood: RM 98+
One of the main course we had was the Grilled Mixed Seafood. The sweet seafood taste of seared scallop and mussels mixes well with unique light sauce and is certainly worth a rating beyond delicious.

Grilled Rib Eye Beef Steak: RM 98+
The medium well perfectly grilled steak: tender, juicy, hot, and covered with steak sauce.

Spring Chicken: RM 78+
The Spring Chicken that I ate has a very special spicy sauce which complements well with the crispy skin. Mixed vegetables and mashed pumpkin completed this dish.

Desserts from Semi-Buffet
Their famous desserts that are served in the semi-buffet are the tiramisu cake, sweet chocolates, and cheesecake; which lived up to its reputation.

Evian water: RM 9+ /bottle
Orange Juice: RM 18+
Starfruit Juice: RM 18+

On the ratings:
Overall: 7.5
Food: 7.5
Environment: 8.5
Service: 7
Pricing: ~RM100 per person
Recomendations: Can dine for special occasion :)
